The Amalfi Coast and Capri, by boat. Thanks to Captain Enzo (photo)…

As most of you will know the Amalfi Coast is world famous for its amazing natural beauty (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amalfi_Coast) for details. Indeed it is lovely BUT from the narrow, windy and tricky coastal road, you cannot see the best parts cos you must concentrate on the tricky narrow road.

For that you must take a boat trip. Cos the views and the beauty that you see from the sea are truly stunning. Recently I was invited on board a lovely boat and we spent a wonderful half-day on board the 22m motor cruiser. This boat has two engines each MAN diesels producing 1050 horses, and the fuel tank holds 3600 litres of fuel!! There are two double cabins with bathrooms plus a single for the Captain, plus a kitchen and living room too.

We headed out from Amalfi port and headed south towards Positano and stopped for a swim near to the coast in front of a deserted beach. Swimming and diving over we sat down to eat in the outside sitting room at the rear of the boat cos our Captain had brought along a wonderful rice dish enough for all of the gang. Then he pulled up the anchor and we headed towards Capri and our Captain stopped next to the White Grotto so we could enjoy another swim while he made the coffee mmmm.

He then drove us around the island and we landed back in Amalfi at around 6pm, very tired and very happy too!!! Wonderful trip!!!
