Following two years of no travel I could not wait to visit lovely Spain again. Back in 2019 we visited Spain three times and I started to love Spain and the Spanish way of life. So after two quick trips recently to the UK we booked ourselves ten days in Valencia, the third city of Spain. I had visited before but only briefly so this time I wanted to see more. Previously I had seen Barcelona and Madrid plus the south coast for holidays, but never Valencia.
Goodness what an amazing city!! There is a direct Ryan Air flight from Naples to Valencia and the ride from the airport to the city centre is quite brief, only about 20 minutes by bus so we were soon checked into the lovely Vincci Hotel in the city centre. This was planned as it enabled us to walk almost everywhere, the hotel is only 5 minutes from the wonderful Central Market (which we visited daily!!).

You can read everything about the city on Wikipedia of course so I will not mention the history, suffice to say that since Spain was “released” from Franco only 47 years ago they have made massive strides and the country now has loads to be proud of and is overtaking other European countries fast. See some photos above and below, and note that the city was washed every morning so we never found any dog shit or rubbish on the pavements, amazing!!!
