The red Vito FLIES up to France and back…

As regular readers will know I LOVE my Mercedes Vito and since I bought her new in 2009 I have always enjoyed my trips with her, Italy to the UK many times plus Germany and France and so on. She has NEVER let me down and is now at 165k kms. When we had the two year stop thanks to COVID she started to misbehave and I was very concerned cos I did not know how I could fix her.

Well she is has now fixed herself and seems to drive better than ever!!! I think that the problem was caused by the enforced stop which semi-blocked the fuel filter or the injectors or the fuel pump or whatever. GREAT news and happy days indeed. She just needed a few tanks of clean fuel, phew!

Recently I decided that I wanted to visit the famous 24 hour race the Bol D’Or at Circuit Paul Ricard in the south of France near to Marseille, which I had not attended since about 1983. Marseille is about 1200 km from Amalfi and so with the van a gentle 2 days each way. I found a hotel in the Vieux Port area and we really enjoyed the trip as well as the amazing circuit and I was SUPER pleased that the Vito was back on form!!! I took my FZ1 with me and so I went to the track each day which is only 30km from the city, such fun, and a few photos follow. STUNNING circuit and race!
