This week (early June 2023) Amalfi is busy, to say the least. Full to overflowing would be more precise. The 3,000 residents “welcome” perhaps 30k visitors per day usually in the peak months of July and August, whereas this year the rush started in March and shows no sign of letting up.
Some family members came from the UK to visit Italy recently and they flew into Roma and spent a few days visiting the Capital. Then a fast train down to Salerno and then the wonderful ferry to Amalfi. One of the things they really wanted to do was to see the Amalfi Coast from the sea so we booked a morning rental with Jacks Boats and they set sail at 9am. The little craft was VERY clean and new and the Yamaha outboard was also perfect.
