2024 simply must be a good year and I am making some very sketchy plans in terms of what I should be doing with my fleet of vehicles this year cos I am spending tooooo much cash on insurance and stuff for some of my fleet that I am not really using enough to justify the outlay.
Still with me??? Good, cos it gets complicated. Let us take it one vehicle at a time and I will try to explain better. Ish.
- Mercedes Vito 116D 2017. This one is very straightforward because this wonderful van is my main workhorse and as I purchased her only in November 2022 in the UK. This van has some miles under her belt (currently about 260k kms) and I have already covered over 30k kms in my 14 months of ownership. I really dont like the fact that she has Ad Blue but unfortunately every diesel engined car, van and truck had this stupid system to meet the latest emissions regs, I love this van to bits and she is a fantastic motorway mile muncher!
- Audi S4 Avant 2005. I bought this amazing rocket ship four years ago and so she arrived at the start of our COVID shutdowns. Hence for the first two years I used her little whereas over the more recent two years I have covered almost 30k kms and I have enjoyed every moment driving her! She goes great and I love driving her BUT recently I have not been using her for various reasons. So I put the S4 up for sale and if a reasonable offer arrives she may go sob watch this space.
- Yamaha MT10 2016. I just collected this amazing naked motorbike from the UK in early November so 2 months ago. She looks semi new despite the 50k kilometres on the clock and is a very attractive bike. I have no intention of selling her for sure!! A credit to her previous owner.
- Honda CB1000R 2018. I have owned this red beauty for several years now and I really enjoy riding her. She still has fairly low mileage (16k kilometres) and I have enjoyed her loads BUT as I now have the MT10 I guess that I will use her less so now consider selling her on while the value is still quite high. In my 3 years of ownership she is still worth only 1k UKP less than the purchase price so I bought her well. We shall see, decision soon.
- Yamaha WR250X 2010. My oldest and least powerful bike but one of my firm favourites! These bikes were made in Japan and were very expensive to purchase so were never volume sellers but my goodness after 14 years mine is still in excellent condition so a keeper for sure.
- Yamaha TMax 560 Techmax 2022. What can I say, this is about my 5th TMax and is deffo the best yet with the colour display and Bluetooth connection and all that. BUT I am not using her much nowadays so she is a possible seller.
- Yamaha XT660X 2016. Yamaha ceased production of these bikes back in 2016 so my bike was one of the last to be built and registered. It has been well loved by its previous owner and since I bought it in 2023 also by me! I have had 3 of these bikes in the past and so I know well what mods I needed to make mainly to the air intake so that she can breathe easier (she had aftermarket Arrow exhausts fitted). This bike is a great all rounder so will be staying with me for years to come.
- VW Tiguan 2014. Well this is not mine cos this belongs to my lovely lady. We bought her new in 2014 (zero miles, registered a few months before we purchased) and this car has shown itself to be excellent! The is FWD with the 2.0 diesel engine and 6 speed gearbox and she is now at around 110k kms and uses very little fuel and goes great.
