Well like last year and the year before Barnes and I will head to Le Mans for the 24 hour motorcycle race next weekend. He must cover a total about 750 km from home to our hotel whereas I have about 1750 km from Amalfi to Le Mans so he can travel 1 day and I need 2 days.
I plan to leave this Monday and head to Orte where I will eat and then sleep in the wonderful Hotel Lazio which is a truckers hotel only about 200 metres from the Orte motorway exit and very close also to an excellent 24 hour fuel station where I fill up ready for the morning early departure.
Yesterday I took an hour or two to check over the Vito van (oil, water, adblue, tyres etc) so she is ready to roll tomorrow (Monday) I just need to load a bike inside and head north. From Orte on Tuesday I will drive to Chamonix, I have booked one night at the lovely Ibis Style Les Bouches I think, then Wed to Le Mans to meet up with Barnes for a beer or 6.
Thats the plan so what could possibly go wrong, as they say???? Here are some pics from Le Mans 2023 and I will add more as the trip progresses.
