Well let it be said that I have never met the guys nor spoken to them but I do love to sample their wonderful products. Not many folks know perhaps that these brothers run not only two excellent pubs in the Midlands but at one of the two pubs they also run their own brewery, see here.
I discovered this by accident as I first visited the Blue Boar Inn when I had no hotel booking and my mate Brian told me to book cos I too am quite a bore hehe and since then I often stay when I visit the Midlands and we will soon have a reunion there later this month. I have visited the other pub the Lord Nelson which I do not like as much, it is interesting as it is built on a slope!!
The beer is simply wonderful and if you ever visit the Midlands I suggest that you try the beer and the food BUT book early as the restaurant fills up very early!! Monday is steak night and the meat is top class I am told!!
The hotel could really do with a lick of paint but hey, u gets what u pay for I guess. Last time I was there the kind bar lady even gave me a couple of Sperrin bar glasses, happy days!!!
